Should you wish to travel to Montana’s Bitterroot Valley, the nearest commercial airport is located in Missoula. Airline carriers servicing the Missoula airport from/to destinations throughout the country are Delta, Northwest and United Airlines, with Horizon and Alaskan Air providing commuter services throughout the Northwest. Hamilton, the hub of the Bitterroot Valley, is about 45 miles south of Missoula. Hamilton Aviation has a jetport with a 4,200 foot paved runway supporting private aircraft.

You will probably want to rent a car so you can do some exploring of the region at your convenience. There are numerous car rental agencies located at the Missoula airport, to include National, Budget, Hertz and Avis. Hamilton has both Enterprise and Dollar rental agencies that deliver vehicles to Hamilton Aviation.

There are many options with regard to overnight accommodations. We can certainly recommend a variety of places, from an all-inclusive destination resort, to friendly B&B’s, or comfortable local motels.
